A record-breaking flood hit Middle Tennessee over the first weekend in May 2010.  Heavy rainfall led to power outages and evacuations in Nashville and several nearby towns.  The flooding reportedly led to 19 deaths across the state and at least 28 deaths in the Southeast part of the U.S.  Thousands of middle Tennesseans have been evacuated from their homes and may have lost everything due to water damage. 

American Red Cross: Operating shelters, preparing and serving meals, mobilizing trained disaster relief workers

Salvation Army: Supplying food and water, clothing and emergency assistance.

Second Harvest Food Bank: Restocking 10% of food stocks lost due to power outages caused by flooding, establishing temporary locations and delivery routes due to damaged facilities and roads.
