Who is Network for Good? Why is there a charge from Network for Good on my card?
Network for Good is a nonprofit that makes it easy for donors to support any charity, anywhere online and that helps nonprofits raise funds for their missions through simple, affordable and effective online fundraising services, including donation processing and email outreach tools. In addition to processing donations through NetworkforGood.org, Network for Good powers donations through individual charity websites and partner sites such as Crowdrise and CapitalOne No Hassle Giving, among others. Network for Good is a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance accredited charity that has processed over $1 billion in donations for more than 100,000 nonprofits since its 2001 founding by AOL, Cisco and Yahoo. www.networkforgood.org
Why didn't my donation go through?
In order to ensure the security of donations processed by Network for Good, we have stringent requirements in place to guard against fradulent transactions. Here are some things that may prevent your donation from being processed:
- The zip code you entered for your donation does not match the zip code on record with the credit card company
- The security code you entered for your donation is incorrect.
- The expiration date you entered has passed or does not match what is on record with the credit card company.
- Your credit card company has declined the charge.
- The location of the computer you're using to attempt the donation is in a different country than the address on your credit card.
We cannot reprocess a donation once it has failed. We recommend that you try to complete your donation again, ensuring that your zip code, address and security information match the information on file with your card issuing bank. I only made one donation. Why does it look like there are multiple charges on my card?
In addition to the actual donation, if your first donation attempt was not successful, your account may show an authorization hold
for the initial donation attempt(s). Please note that this is not an actual charge and should drop off of your statement within a few days (the length of time depends on your bank's policy). You may wish to contact your bank directly to have them remove this hold from your account. If the bank needs verification that we will not debit against the hold, we will happily provide it to them upon your request
How can I update or stop my recurring donation?
What if my temporary password doesn't seem to work?
We understand that our temporary passwords can be difficult, but we use complex temporary passwords to ensure the security of your account. Please make sure that you are entering the password exactly as it appears in your email, or if you are copying and pasting, please make sure that you are not including any extra spaces.
Is my donation tax-deductible? How do I get a copy of my receipt?
Your donation to a 501(c)3 charitable organization is 100% tax deductible.
Network for Good provides an electronic receipt at the time of the donation. Both the receipt you see onscreen at the completion of the donation process and the e-mail you receive shortly thereafter meet all IRS requirements as a record of donation. How are donations processed by Network for Good?
Donations are processed by our nonprofit partner Network for Good, a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance
accredited industry leader in processing online donations. Network for Good, in technical terms, is a "donor-advised fund," a 501(c)(3) organization that collects contributions from donors and distributes such contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing with the IRS recommended by you, the donor.
How can I pay for my donation?
Donations can be made using Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards.
How do I know that my donation is secure?
Network for Good uses industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep your personal information as secure as possible. Network for Good helps to protect your information by working with partners that provide a secure and safe environment for credit card donations.
Furthermore, Network for Good, who processes the US credit card donations, is a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance accredited charity that meets all of the BBB standards for charity accountability (BBB). We have processed more than $800 million in donations for 80,000 charities through their giving system.
How Does Network for Good protect my privacy?
Network for Good respects and protects your privacy. Network for Good will never sell, trade or rent your personal information to other individuals or companies. The information that you provide is used only to complete your donation. With your permission, your name and contact information will be provided to the charity you supported through Network for Good. If you do not wish share your name and contact information with the charity you supported through Network for Good or you choose to make your donation anonymously, Network for Good will not share your name or contact information. Network for Good will never rent or sell your email address or other contact information.
Are there costs to making a donation through Network for Good?
Your donation is being processed by Network for Good, a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance
accredited nonprofit 501(c)3 donor advised fund. Network for Good re-grants the donation funds to your designated charity(ies), but there are costs associated with processing and distributing online donations to your favorite charity(ies). Depending on the service you used to give your donation, there is a 3% to 5% transaction processing fee to help support the expense of maintaining the technology to process and distribute your donations.
When will a charity receive my donation?
Network for Good sends payments to nonprofits on the 15th of each month that include all donations made in the previous month. For example, donations processed in February will be paid on March 15th.
