Review of MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue (a project of Community Initiatives) by jonathanharris

5 stars. Pigeons and doves are remarkable animals. They can hear the sound of wind rushing over mountains a thousand miles away. They see colors we can only imagine. They have spectacular memories and retain hundreds of mental images for years. They may be among a small number of animals capable of passing the "mirror test" for self-recognition. They are loving parents—sometimes even foster par...

5 stars. The Patient Institute empowers patients and caregivers to navigate the healthcare system. Their free educational programs are very informative. I use their Preparing For Your Doctor's Appointment Form before seeing my doctors.

5 stars. My company, DLD Insurance Brokers, volunteered here on April 15th 2014. We had the most amazing, humbling experience! Michelle is amazing and what her and her husband have undertook for this community is mind blowing. We where so honored to be able to serve with them and pack bags for them to hand out the following day to those in need. Everyone made us feel so welcome and we were able...

5 stars. As a long-time financial supporter and new Board Member, I have always been impressed with the sincerity of the staff and volunteers to truly carry out the mission of reducing the perceived need for abortion by supporting and encouraging the women who come to True Care. God's love for all His children is demonstrated to hurting, confused, scared women, and their families from the momen...

4 stars. I did my volunteer work at MAII in summer of 2011 for 2 months, and it was definitely a summer well spent.
The guys over there are extremely nice. Reverend Lucien, Wladimir, Milendolph and other guys were very helpful.
The knowledge that I got volunteering over here has been very instrumental on my pursuit for undergraduate degree. I got the drive that I needed from here. For me it was t...

5 stars. I am a fifth grade teacher who had the pleasure of taking her class to the Drug House Odyssey this past year. The real life dramatizations really helped the students to understand the severity of bad decisions as well as the consequences they could face. I am so thankful for the law enforcement officers and all of the other volunteers that worked so very hard to make this exhibit benef...

5 stars. We leave on our second trip to Ethiopia with HMCHA next Friday. We will finish the bridge we started in 2012 and will also spend time with children and families served by the organization. The people of Yerer are some of the poorest that we have ever met and the positive impact of HMCHA is nothing short of amazing. We too sponsor a child and encourage you to consider doing the same.

5 stars. This disease is rare, very rare, and is very difficult to go trough this alone. The uncertainty and the hopelessness is intolerable. CureJM has helped us to connect and share experiences with other families and to dissipate the hopelessness and uncertainty.

Review of AIM HIGH ACADEMY INC by Lin Patterson

5 stars. I have watched the love shared between coaches and students at many practices and competitions, and I can attest to the fact that a picture is worth a thousand words. Seeing an excited smile on the face of a student being hugged by a Christian coach is quite a picture as well as a statement. That coach and student both realized that a challenge had been overcome by hard work, disciplin...

5 stars. My grandson was diagnosed with JDM six years ago. It was a struggle just to comprehend what this rare disease with no known cure meant for him. Information was sparse and hard to find. Then we located CureJM and we found, not just knowledge and the hope for a cure through the funding of research, but friends and understanding. Each day that goes by we find ourselves in contact with ano...

5 stars. In 2014, the Coalition opened up their Drug House Odyssey event to allow the Red Cross to teach 5th graders how to do Hands-Only CPR. The result was that more than 800 5th graders can now get involved in saving a person who has a sudden-collapse. The kids had a great time while learning a life-saving technique. Congrats to the Coalition for stretching their mission to address a critica...

Review of World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh by Elianna

5 stars. Through the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, I was able to be a Youth Reporter for the One Young World convention that Pittsburgh hosted in 2012. It easily was one of the best experiences of my life. Not only did I get to hear from incredible leaders such as Bill Clinton, Muhammad Yunus, and Kofi Annan, but I also got to interact with young leaders and change makers from over 180 d...

Review of COZY CAT COTTAGE by merlingraylorn

Thu, 2014-04-17 09:07
5 stars. I just can't say enough good things about Cozy Cat Cottage, a no-kill cat shelter in Powell Ohio. I tell everyone who is considering adopting a cat, or is looking for a place to volunteer. People who visit for the first time often comment on how clean the place looks and smells, and the volunteers work every day to keep it so, because a clean environment is a healthy environment for th...

5 stars. This was my first time volunteering here. Everyone working here made me feel so welcome. I could not believe how much food goes out here on a daily basis. Cheryl also told me about her bigger vision of getting more than just food items for the people who come here for help. She wants to help them to be able to provide for themselves. What a blessing Minnie's place is!!!
