5 stars. We will continue our financial support this year and probably beyond. This seems to be a really well managed operation with good direction. We're for helping the horses, and they do it best of any we've checked into in the central Atlantic area. Great annual open house. Nice people.

5 stars. In today’s world mental illness has become the dirty little secret. However as in our son’s case Handi-Dogs is helping to reclaim daily lives. Once unable to be in public for any great length of time , Handi-Dogs has given him a new lease on life. Handi-Dogs helped our son train his dog to be a service dog; while at the same time helped retrain our son to communicate with other people....

5 stars. Mylestone Equine Rescue is one magical place for me. I started volunteering at the farm 8 years ago – it’s my home away from home. When I pull into the driveway and see Calvin, Dillon, Sundance, Casey and Ghost, my heart just beats with excitement.
How it all began
My friend gave me a newspaper article regarding Mylestone Equine’s Open House. My husband and I went to the event and I was...

4 stars. I found Needymeds several years ago and since then I have helped many people and family wiht resources available when they had no help related to their diagnosis to obtain assistance that they otherwise would have gone with out and suffered due to not having that help. I continue to work with disabled voluntarily besides seeking to continue to work in this field as so many people strug...

5 stars. Ppaws is great! Their prices are good and the staff is wonderful with the dogs and cats! I highly recommend them for anyone who needs help with animal care and who can't afford a vet! I have taken several dogs to get neutered or spayed there and have always had satisfactory results and was treated with respect and care by the staff! I've never had any problems with them and they always...

2 stars. I've visited Serenity Springs a couple of times and was disappointed in their presentation and the guide's attitude. The tour goes on a loop and the cat enclosures that are shown are nice and the cats seem content enough. However, if you look back towards the right side of the facility, the cats that aren't shown, they appear to have none of the luxuries of the ones on the tour. In fac...

5 stars. I had bought a Husky mix, and then got my hands on a rescue boxer. My husband's hours then got cut and my babies needed fixed. They set me up with the "big dog special" that included the neutering of both dogs and a rabies shot!! While I was there my eyes were brought to the awesome prices they had on flea preventatives. They took such great care of my pups and the surgeon Keri spoke w...

5 stars. These folks are our heroes! We adopted a dog who showed up on our doorstep and made herself at home, but only because we were able to take her to PPAWs for checking over and spaying. We were not able to afford to take our pup to the vet otherwise, and couldn't have kept her unspayed. To our delight, they checked her over, pronounced her healthy, and began the procedure. Imagine our sur...

5 stars. On my first day of volunteering at Mylestone Equine Rescue , I didn’t know what to expect. When I arrived, Bruce and Susankelly Thomspon, as well as the volunteers welcomed me in as if I was a part of the family. Susankelly understands that not only do these horses need us, but we need them as well, so despite having no experience with horses, she encouraged me to learn as much as I co...

1 stars. Patty, you should not be surprised by the review written by RichL3399. I read at least two other ones along the same lines and my experience with you and North Star is similar although not quite as intense. I am surprised that you do not remove the negative ones from your site and only leave the "glowing" testimonials. If you take exception to this comment please explain your ineptness...

1 stars. This program was built to build children's self-esteem. Instead it tears it down with the sole owner, Chuck Mckay, makes children feel unwanted, hurt, and like a piece of trash. Mr. Mckay deprives children of food and breaks for water. I would never send my child here again and I advise strongly that you do the same.

4 stars. New Heights Educational Group is led by a visionary, patient, yet hard worker woman Ms. Clark. My voluntary role in the organization is as a "Program Developer." During our conversation, I can sense her great American spirit that truly reflected her organization's mission and vision. This organization offers students to advance their education with quite low cost and rich educational r...

1 stars. I looked this charity up online and I read on another blog that almost all of the people working for The Breast Cancer Society are related to the Executive Director James T. Reynolds Jr. They use call centers that take 80% of each donation and after that James and his family receive outrageous salaries. His wife works there and is the Public Relations Representative. She goes by Kristi...

3 stars. SC has not published its 990 IRS forms for several years, nor any annual reports in some time. So it is impossible to get much idea of what they are spending. They seem to be involved in a program involving the revitalization of American Indian languages, including one that has been "dead" for over two hundred years. They also seem to count their bazaar fundraising simultaneously as a ...

Our worker Michellr gave us 30 minutes yo be off the property and left us there without a dimr. We just gave them over $400 less thrn 48 hours ago but said," To Baf" as she walked away with a smile on her face. She was rude, mean, direspectful and treated us like we were scum. I have w...

4 stars. They teach people who are blind how to get along independently and continue to live on their own. Without the independent living skills classes my mother would have had to move in with me. Now she continues to live in her own home and we can still go to Grandma's house for holidays. Thank you Patty Locke for making life once again good for my Mom.

5 stars. I'm in my 4th year volunteering for Mylestone. As child, I became very passionate about horses and as a teenager had a horse of my own. Now as an adult I still love the envolvement and interaction with horses and I get to do it in a way that pays it forward for a very worthwhile organization. Mylestone specializes in taking some of the worst equine abuse and neglect cases and providing...
