Review of CAT ADOPTION TEAM by Eyegal

Sat, 2013-12-28 11:54
5 stars. I volunteered for the Cat Adoption Team from 2001-2009 . I am very impressed with the organization of this truly No Kill shelter. Everyone there is a true animal lover. Their on-site veterinary hospital nurses ailing cats back to health and even helps the local wild animal shelter with their big cats. I fostered kittens until I adopted some of my fosters and realized I would truly beco...

Review of MALAWI PROJECT INC by markandera

5 stars. I served as a missionary in southern Malawi from 2003 to 2011. While serving in that country, I had the pleasure of seeing the Malawi Project in action. Without a doubt this is one of the most outstanding ministries of Churches of Christ in Africa. I witnessed the distribution of tons of food to the hungry during times of famine, the donation of hundreds of thousands of dollars of medi...

Review of JustGive by Embry

5 stars. Each year in late December I sit down to make my annual donations to charity through JustGive. I have been doing it for several years. I donate to 70 charities . It used to be an annual "chore" to write the checks, address the envelopes, lick the stamps, and lick the envelopes. Exhausting! Then I discovered JustGive. Each year I can call up last year's donations, adjust them, take one ...

Review of AVET PROJECT INC by Yankeetrish

Sat, 2013-12-28 09:28
5 stars. I had never heard about AVET until I was offered a retreat with them on a cruise.

After the first group meeting, when we introduced ourselves with the talking stick, I felt a little out of place.

I am still in the military, currently serving in the Reserves, and did not think I had the right to take a slot and be lucky enough to be on the retreat. In my mind, I believed, there was some...

5 stars. What started out as a small "taxi service" to and from the nearest low cost clinic has blossomed into one of the most wonderful non-profits I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of. With over 2000 pets having been spayed or neutered via the shuttle bus and vouchers, thousands of homeless animals have been spared from entering the shelter system or having to be euthanized.

Review of Virginia Ballet Company and School by ARBlack

Sat, 2013-12-28 08:48
5 stars. I have three daughters attending Virgina Ballet. I have to say that the instruction is excellent! The artistic director and staff genuinely care about the development of all the students. My family has been involved with Virginia Ballet for over three years now and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I've seen the ballet students progress both in the dance art form as well as ...

5 stars. As a retired military person, I have seen how Support the Troops has touched and made a difference in many lives of active duty military and veterans in Florida and around the world. I personally know many groups, teams, and individuals that have directly benefitted from this well-run organization!

Review of Milos Sanctuary & Special Needs Cat Rescue, Inc. by Deborah86

Sat, 2013-12-28 07:35
5 stars. I became involved w/Milo's Sanctuary about 2 years ago after I unexpectedly became involved in rescue and acquired a cat w/an eye injury. I had no idea where to turn & was referred to Milo's president, Michele Hoffman, who got the cat into Milo's vet and assisted me in every way possible through a 2 month odyssey of care, much of which was in hospital, with grafts, revisions and host o...

Review of AVET PROJECT INC by Candy L.

Sat, 2013-12-28 07:10
5 stars. I cannot remember when it was when I was first introduced to AVET. But it was for a retreat for women held in their home. I was amazed at the care that Kim and Garren gave to us women, especially in this day and age when most organizations seem to forget about us women warriors. The retreat was awesome. I was also introduced to a doctor who also served in the military and was seeing a ...

Review of Erowid Center by alpha.leonis

5 stars. I started using this site as a writing resource, but over the years it has become a place I could go to get straight up, honest information about different substances and their effects. In a world where we are told to 'just say no' and that's is it, this site serves as an honest, straight-forward source of information. This is one of the few non-profit organizations I donate to, and I ...

1 stars. I recently came into some money and felt a strong desire to contribute to a worthy cause in my community. City Impact is well known throughout SF so I reviewed their financial statements This may seem boring to most, but I'm a Finance professional so it only made sense to do so. In any event, a quick review of this firm's Form 990 yielded some shocking information. The Founder, Directo...

5 stars. I am a WiRED Board member...a founding member. We work like crazy, as volunteers, to provide health and medical education to those most in need. We have grown in leaps and bounds and have partnered with organizations that are like minded to serve the poorest, the most unfortunate, those without access to health care, information, clean water, electricity, etc. We now have over 300 heal...

5 stars. Aloha Cliff and Magin.
Our family wishes you all the best. We had a wonderful time and the Christmas party. I know if it wasn't for your support, my children would go without a gift. Your party is more than just a hand out. It makes us feel like family and feel the joy of the holidays in these hard times.
My children enjoyed the party so much they still talk about it. The prizes they wo...

Review of UNITED PLANET by Karsen G.

Fri, 2013-12-27 19:34
4 stars.
My experience with United Planet was marvelous. I arrived in Peru with no idea what to expect. Although the pre-departure sessions and all my back and forth with staff had been extensive and gratefully appreciated, nothing can prepare you for landing alone in a third world airport at the un-travelled age of 17. I will admit I was slightly panicky, and wondering what I had gotten myself...
