Nonprofit Marketing Director

Imagine you’re working at a local nonprofit. What is your number one problem? Raising the dollars you need to stay in business and advance your mission.

Now imagine you’re working at Network for Good. Your organization has some terrific online fundraising products, know-how and training – and these go far to solve the number one problem of nonprofits. That’s why Network for Good’s nonprofit services grew rapidly in 2009. How do you get those tools out to even more nonprofits in 2010? How do you give them the know-how that will make them great fundraisers? And how do you do it in a way that further strengthens Network for Good as a social enterprise?

That’s your job: Nonprofit Marketing Director at Network for Good.

Position Overview:
Network for Good seeks an energetic, extremely organized and highly business-minded Nonprofit Marketing Director to accomplish all of this. The job requires a task master with a strategic and analytic mind. You are a great fit if you enjoy execution as much as planning and are able to retain both the big picture and a close attention to detail. You won’t just own the marketing strategy – you’ll play a major role in implementing it alongside your Product Marketing Manager. We seek someone with about 10 years of professional marketing experience (preferably at least some of it in the nonprofit sector and including product marketing), exceptional business acumen and strong communication talents. Familiarity with fundraising products and Salesforce are a big plus.

This position reports to Katya Andresen, Network for Good’s Chief Operating Officer, and the key responsibilities include:

  • Marketing products: You will be expected to use your prodigious talents to get our products and training in the hands of as many small- to medium- sized nonprofits as possible. This means clearly branding Network for Good and anticipating, identifying and meeting the needs of the nonprofit marketplace in online fundraising and outreach. You will own marketplace analysis/intelligence, the product roadmap and overall product strategy, as well as oversee product promotion and pricing with support from the Product Marketing Manager and coordination with the Sales Director. You will also seek to expand our product offerings and business unit revenue via strategic partnerships.

  • Expanding the know-how: You will have responsibility for Network for Good’s highly popular and well regarded training resources, Nonprofit 911 tele-seminars, email tips, eBooks and learning center. These resources have made Network for Good a thought leader, created a marketing funnel for the sales team and ensured our nonprofit customers get the training they need to be successful. You’ll be using your strategic skills to take these programs to the next level and to double participation – and you’ll be using your attention to detail when you proofread materials, send email campaigns and coordinate speakers.

  • Managing the business: You’re marketing the products that are the leading source of revenue for our social enterprise. You will use your business expertise and analytic skills to track ROI on marketing efforts, conversion rates and product profitability with help from our Sales Director, CEO and CFO.

This job is a microcosm of Network for Good’s culture: We are a nonprofit that operates with the soul of a charity and the savvy of a business. People who thrive at Network for Good are those that enjoy doing good in a fast-moving, mold-breaking working environment always focused on results. We live by our motto: “do good, feel good,” and just as importantly, by our business plans.
